SAE Institute Madrid is seeking a suitably qualified external lecturer to delivering undergraduate units within the Electronic Music Production program.
External Lecturers are responsible for providing high quality instruction to students in a variety of professional topics. Staff in this role will also be responsible for assessing and providing feedback on students’ work and for ensuring that any issues relating to courses or students are communicated to the Academic Coordination team in a timely and professional manner.
External Lecturers visit the campus and deliver lectures on a casual and usually subject-specific basis. They are nevertheless expected to combine impeccable subject knowledge with excellent presentation and teaching skills.

Responsibilities that are part of the role
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide high quality instruction to students in topics related to their specific area of expertise. This involves also mentoring activities or other related academics initiatives. In addition to an exceptional teaching quality, this role is also in charge of the assessment of student, as well as their administration (attendance, marking, etc.).

Core Tasks
-Prepare and deliver lectures with both theory and practical demonstration elements
-Integrate real-world experiences into lecture presentation
-Assessment (delivery and creation of exams, assignments, presentations, etc., where applicable)
-Actively participate in the preparation and updating of learning resources (handouts, class notes, student portal, etc.)
-Assist in student administration (communication, meetings, etc.)
Selection Criteria
-At least 2 years Lecturing experience
-Demonstrable experience in Electronic Music Industry
-Demonstrable experience in Cubase, Reason and other production software.
-Demonstrable experience in Education environment
-Demonstrable experience in leading a team
-Minimum BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in relevant field of expertise (MA highly valued) or substantial industry experience
-Local language, written and spoken English highly valued
-SAE graduate and/or SAE experience will be highly valued
